Living Wills
One has the right to create an advanced health care directive. This is a document advising others of the manner
in which you wish to be treated should you lose the capacity to make medical decisions for yourself due to illness. A living will
is one form of an advance directive. A living will usually provides specific directives as to the course of treatment or a direction
that prohibits certain kinds of treatment to be provided by caretakers if the principal (Person who wrote the living will) is unable
to give informed consent for medical treatment. This document can permit treatment and it can direct the removal of certain body parts
(if viable ) from the principals body so that they can be used for the benefit of others if the principal is in a specific medical
condition where it is unlikely that he or she will survive.
